To dear John. As his ex secretary, I can confirm that he was a devil to work for but would do anything to help anyone in need. He was a dear friend to me and my daughters Paula and Alison. I remember that I needed four new tyres for my car to pass the MOT and, as a single mother could not afford them at such short notice. John was immediately there with an offer to lend me the money, which was a life saver to me. I paid him back when I received my next pay packet but will never forget his kindness. We have always kept in touch, but, as I moved to Bristol, did not get to see each other often. On last year's Christmas Card he wrote that he hoped to see us this year but, due to my having surgery and being unable to drive, I'm afraid this was not to be. Rest in Peace dear John, you will be sadly missed.

Love from, Christine Partridge (formerly White), Paula and Alison xxx
