Kathy King was a remarkable woman. She was very able and intelligent and with a good heart. She spent her time as a councilor helping those in need and not pursuing her own political ambitions.
Personally she helped our family when she was instrumental in having a street in Birtley named after our father, Harry Letch. This was a tribute to a fine man who dedicated his life to the pursuit of local history.
Her passing is sad, but the sadness is tempered by the help and kindness she showed to so many people. A life that was well lived.
It was an honour to have know her.
Sincerely Harold Letch.

Kathleen, you were such an amazing lady, so full of life, you were made of strong stuff, your heart spread such kind gentle and caring ways, you were an Earth Angel for sure, so now flutter those pretty wings and let us feel your spirit around us all, all our love and deepest sympathy, to one beautiful lady, Brenda Haughey and Tony Pearce. xxxx

Kathy, Birtley has lost a real Treasure. You were such a wonderful kind person, who always put the people you met first. Nothing was too much trouble and you helped so many people with your intelligence, wit, determination, hard work knowledge and your fairness for all. Your cups of tea and sandwiches were wonderful. You will be sadly and greatly missed, by everyone whose lives you touched. A heart of Gold. Above all you loved your family so much, Rest in Peace Dear Friend. God Bless you, Birtley will remember you as a great woman.
Janet, Roly and Family.
