PaulMILSOMWe sadly announce the passing of a beloved son, brother, cousin and uncle. Paul left us on 14 December and we miss him so much. He was very bright and kind hearted, always wanting to help people. He had special interests in law where he worked as a police station executive and in helping the homeless by managing properties so that the tenants had a secure home. He loved the younger generation and was always thinking of ways to help them both in this country and Canada. Above all he was wonderful to his parents whom he looked after in every way. He leaves a gap that is irreplaceable. Darling Paul we will never forget you. A joint Funeral for Paul and Robert will take place on Monday 31st January, at 1.30pm at Downing Place United Reformed Church in Cambridge. There will be refreshments immediately after the Service. All welcome. Family and invited friends only will then attend Cambridge Crematorium for 4.30pm. Family flowers only. Donations to Shelter and Parkinson's Society. Those unable to join in person can view the funeral by live stream at youtu.be/RXzlL6-noiw

Dear Paul,

It is very hard to see your picture here, I wish it would be only a bad dream.
It’s so sad that you have to go like this.
I remember how caring, kind, helpful, intelligent, open-minded, sensitive you were and also how proud you were of your hungarian granddad, Káldor Miklós.
I remember, when you hid a four leaves clover in the chest of drawer you brought for me to bring me good luck and also when you saw me walking on the road after work, you picked me, had a good chat somewhere with a drink and you dropped me home.
I remember, when you saved my friend's life. Thank you for her life. And for her 2 daughters life whom she gave birth to after her recovery.
Am grateful for those huge encyclopedias you gave me to help me to improve my English and for our flowing conversations where no masks or armours were needed...
We were planning to meet this year as We’ve not met since due to the present circumstances.
I will miss you so much. Ég Veled Paul.
My deepest condolences to your family.
Love from Eszter

Right from the first day I met you paul, you stood out from every other landlord I’ve met.you were my landlord and we later became friends and ever since then, you we’re always willing and ready to help at anytime you we’re called upon. It’s sad to know that you didn’t get to meet my kids as you’ve always said that one day you’ll meet them.I am still in shock that you’re no longer with us,but you’ll always be in our heart as I know you’re in a better place. There’s is a saying that goes like “Our dead are never dead to us, until we have forgotten them.”You’ll always have a special place in my heart and family.Adieu Paul.

My heart was broken in a million places when I heard of your passing. I kept wondering why do bad things happen to good people. Words haven't been invented to describe the kind of person you were. You imparted our lives in so many positive ways and for everything you did, I will always be indebted to you. I'm glad I told you this. I hope you find eternal peace where you are. As my kids grow older, I will tell them about you. You don't deserve this Paul. The memories I have of you will forever be new in my heart. I love you Paul Milsom. Rest in peace!

Paul was my friend for over 10 years, and a wonderfully compassionate man and great intellectual companion, also fun loving and sometimes roguish in his excellent sense of humour. We always had a great time together, whether discussing philosophy, politics, history or world events. He was so kind to me in good times and in bad, and I got a very strong sense of his caring for people. Paul was my best friend and I will miss him very much. Jim

I came to know Paul through his friendship with Jim. We would meet on a Friday or Saturday night for an evening at a local Cambridge Pub. However, the best time was spent when Paul used to come back for coffees and late night conversations that lasted for many hours. His wry observations on life were always astute and carefully analysed. One thing that I would like to say about Paul that I have come to realise is that he was exceptionally modest with a genuine interest in other people and their lives. I will miss his warmth, intelligence, smile, and laughter. Gillian

Our sincere condolences to Penny, Tom, Ben and all the family.
