James SydneyCURNOWformerly from Garras near Helston in Cornwall. Jim was Co Proprietor of Matchmakers of Truro and a Natural England Volunteer at Goss Moor and lived at North Carn Marth before latterly Brockley near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. Jim passed away peacefully at The Martins Care Home in Bury St Edmunds on Monday 30th September 2024 aged 82 years following a brave battle with Alzheimers. Beloved husband of Marion. Much loved dad and stepdad of Ben and wife Lucy, Harriet and husband Jon, Suzi and husband Scott and to Heidi. Adored grandad of Willow, Ella, Pippa and Easton.

Funeral Service to take place on Friday 25th October at West Suffolk Crematorium in Risby IP28 6RR, (Abbey Chapel) at 1.30pm. All are most welcome.

Family flowers only. Donations may be given at the end of the service to benefit The Martins Care Home Music Fund (which Jim enjoyed so much) or sent c/o Armstrongs Funeral Service, 24 St Andrews Street North, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 1TH to whom arrangements have been entrusted.

Jim was a true gentleman and one of the kindest people I have ever met. Even on the phone, he would always say ‘ Nice to hear your voice “ The world is a lesser place with his passing. xx

I worked for Jim at Matchmaker, he was one of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet. He was a kind man and a guiding light during my early years. I met up again with Jim in later years when he was a gardener, same guy, still a lovely person. Thank you Jim for giving me my first job, and all the help and support you gave me along the way. You set me on the right path and I will always be grateful to you. RIP Jim.
