Thomas LeslieARMSTRONGof Haworth Street, Oswaldtwistle, passed away in The Hollies N.H, Clayton-le- Moors, on Friday, November 1, aged 88. In his early working days Les, as he was known to all, was a salesman for Hoover vacuums, until moving on to become a printer, working for the Daily Express newspaper in Manchester. Les was a keen reader, loved watching various TV programmes and was a big fan of football. As an avid Manchester United fan he would travel to as many matches as possible. Les also had a passion for model railways. Les was husband of the late Claire and he leaves his daughter Sue, granddaughters Katie and Lucy, son-in-law Mick and his greatgrandchildren Martha, Molly and Joseph. Fr. S. O'Brien was due to conduct the funeral service and cremation at Accrington Crematorium at 1pm, on Thursday, November 14. Donations are welcomed to The British Heart Foundation or Cancer Research UK c/o Mrs S. Pickin, Oswaldtwistle Funeral Services, 235 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
