I have known John since I was 8 years old. He was my piano teacher. He was excellent, giving me a thorough grounding in music theory as well. Although not a very good pianist, I turned out to be a reasonable singer in the end and John accompanied me when I sang at Grove Street, and sometimes David Howell. David was lovely as well. John was always modest about his great talent, and gave great praise to God with his great ministry of music. May you rest in peace and rise in glory, John. John was a well respected faithful member of Grove Street Methodist church. Nobody could play the organ like him. His enthusiasm and talent have enriched many services and events. Personally he played at my wedding & those of my children. He will be greatly missed by us all.
