TeresaHUNTWith great sadness and much love, we report the death, peacefully, of Teresa Hunt (born August 1933, died late December, 2023). Teresa succumbed after a brave, and tenacious struggle with Parkinson's Disease while retaining a twinkle in her eye until near the end. Wife of the late Master Mariner Patrick Hunt and loving mother to Elizabeth, Catharine, Paul, Austin, and Stephen, she was also an adored and adoring grandmother to 12 lucky grandchildren.

Teresa, the youngest of four children to Patrick and Anne Mulholland, grew up in South Liverpool, and attended La Sagesse Convent Grammar School. After school, Teresa studied physiotherapy before switching to train as a teacher at La Sainte Union in Southampton. She subsequently worked at St Christopher's in Speke, St Malachy's, Toxteth, St Mary's, Woolton, and other primary schools across the city.

After the tragic early death in 1980 of her beloved husband Pat, a Captain with Blue Star Line, Teresa devoted the rest of her life to her five children and the broader family. Her belief in the anchoring importance of family was best witnessed by her relentless advocacy of an annual family reunion week in North Wales unbroken since the early 1970s.

As her health declined, Teresa was supported at home by a devoted network of family and friends, with special recognition to her wonderful sister-in-law, Trisha Mulholland, wife to her late brother Tony.

Teresa's understated while deep and unswerving Roman Catholic faith, was central to her life of love, compassion, and championing the underdog. The late Father Henry King of St Austin's Church, Grassendale, was a remarkable support to Teresa after Pat's death.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Francis Assisi Parish Church, Garston, where Teresa and Patrick were married in 1959. The Mass is at 1315hrs on Monday, January 22nd, with interment thereafter. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to 'Parkinsons UK' charity No 258197.
