Inspirational is probably an over used word at times but it most certainly applied to Arthur. His teaching style was humorous, motivational, compassionate, vibrant and imaginative. His love of all things history and magical story telling painted the most inspirational images. Arthur was truly loved by all his novice students and I so hoped his style would become the cornerstone of my own teaching abilities throughout my career. Arthur and his great friend Brian Scott were also wonderful company on field visits and trips further afield to Northumbria and Normandy. Thank you Arthur for the fun and laughter and all you gave us.
