George BertramPOWELLof Chippenham Court, Monmouth Died peacefully in his sleep on 30th March, aged 92 years. Retired Head of International Engineering, Lucas Girling. Survived by his loving Wife Jean. Son of Bertram Powell, 500th Lord Mayor of Leicester (1959) and his Wife, Harriet, Lady Mayoress. "Goodnight Sweet Prince and Flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest" (Hamlet). Funeral service at The Forest of Dean Crematorium, Speech House Road, Cinderford, GL14 3HU on Friday 19th May at 11:30 am. By request, family flowers only. If desired, donations in memory of George for The Salvation Army may be placed in the donations box at the crematorium, given online at www.ernest-heal.co.uk or sent to Ernest Heal & Sons Funeral Directors, Chippenham Funeral Home, Howells Place, Monmouth, NP25 3ED. (Please make cheques payable to Ernest Heal & Sons Donations Account).
