Ron was a gentlemen in the truest sense of the word. He was kind, thoughtful, loyal, caring and considerate, always seeing the best in people. Ron was one very special person, a devoted husband to Glenys during their long and happy marriage and a tower of strength for her and for his adored children, Lyndis and Simon and his grandsons Alex and Christopher. My heart goes out to them all at this time of loss.

My own children join me in paying our tribute to Ron, especially my stepson Richard who is Glenys’s much loved nephew; Richard is truly thankful for all the support, kindness and love shown to him ongoing by Glenys and Ron for over fifty years and will miss Ron very much indeed. May he rest in peace.

Ron always made me feel welcome and part of the family from the very beginning, and it was clear to see what a wonderful role model he was for Alex.
One of my fondest memories of him was how, whenever we visited, he’d always make sure I was warm enough, had a cup of tea in my hand, and a pair of slippers to wear. It was such a simple thing, but it showed just how caring and thoughtful he was.
I’ll also always remember the way he and Nain looked after each other with so much love and devotion, It was truly special to see. He will be greatly missed. X

I was very lucky to have Grandad in my life and I miss him dearly. He has been a constant throughout and I will miss the motivation and advice he gave me. He is a role model to me in how to live a good life and treat people. The way he looked after Mum and Nain is an example to me and I frequently find myself wondering how he would overcome problems and solutions. The last time I saw him we parted with a big smile and I will treasure that. My brother and I are the luckiest grandkids on the planet. Thank you for everything Grandad. I will miss you.

I have been very lucky to have my grandad as a role model in my life and he has been a huge part of helping me become the person I am.
I have never experienced anything without him around being there for advise and motivation and I am going to miss him dearly. There have been many times where I have found myself in situations and have wondered how he would overcome that. The way he looked after my mum and Nain has been inspirational and I will do my best to carry his example in the rest of my life.
He has been so welcoming to my partner Lottie who was welcomed as a part of the family. She will miss his hugs.
I have been the luckiest grandson in the world. Thank you, grandad

My Wife and I have known Ron and Glenys for many years in the Chelmsford area. We always thought they were a grand couple.
If only more people could be as decent, polite and friendly as Ron
was - the world would be a lot better place.
