My first memories of you date back to around 1984, when myself and a load of our classmates were sitting on the school car park in a minivan, hot, irritated and waiting for that one straggler to turn up so we could go off on our trip….yes, we were waiting for you. You eventually rocked up and got on the bus, said something daft that had us all laughing and off we went. Humour continued to get you out of plenty of tricky situations throughout your life! Our paths have crossed at many points since then, as we had many friends in common. 40 years Simon! But 40 years wasn’t quite long enough. Rest in peace, you will be missed such a lot by so many xxx

To my dearest Simon, my soulmate.
You were my source of kindness, laughter, and love. Your sense of humour could light up the darkest days, and your caring spirit made the world feel brighter. You fought with strength and dignity, my love. I will miss you more than words could ever express, and the gap you leave behind can never truly be filled. Xxx
