Where do I even begin to pay tribute to such an amazing man. I knew as soon as we met that you and Carole were meant to be, the smile you put on each others faces was heartwarming to say the least. We walked up mountains together, walked for hours and never ran out of things to talk about. You helped me down them when I’d came a cropper, even though you did film it.
We built a camper van and never argued once, We would however argue about which was better, Costa or Starbucks, We never did settle that debate. You took me under your roof when I needed a place without hesitation. You were always there when I needed you, for anything. Whether that was making a drawer for the kitchen, framing some pictures, support and advice or just a chat over a coffee.
Thanks Jim for being the person you were. I bet there aren’t many people who have met you that haven’t said the words “thanks Jim”.
Mark knopfler once said “these mist covered mountains are home now for me, but my home is in lowlands and always will be”
I take from that, you’re now out on a munroe somewhere doing what you loved, with a Ginsters pasty, a flask of tea and maybe a wee dram of whiskey. But there’s a big gap in the lowlands now and I’ll do everything in my power to keep going your memories, your humour, your positivity, your strength and your love, but they’re big shoes to fill.
You were more than brother in law, you were a brother in arms.
