for Debbie and Mark and family
For our Kind and Helpful Uncle
Today we gather, sad to say goodbye,
And yet with gratitude, as tears fill every eye.
For you were someone special, gentle, warm and true,
The kind of person who would always help you through.
You gave your time so freely,
Never asking for reward,
A helping hand, a listening ear,
A kindness deeply stored.
You made life’s journey brighter
For all who knew your name,
Not through grand or famous deeds,
But through love’s enduring flame.
An uncle, yes—but so much more,
A friend on whom we could depend,
Someone whose warmth and generosity
We were privileged to call family and friend.
Though now we face the sadness
Of living without you near,
The memories that you gave to us
Will always keep you here.
So rest now, dear Uncle, peacefully,
Your kindness will live on still,
In every life that you have touched,
And every heart you helped to fill.
And though we say our last goodbye,
We know this much is true:
The world was made a better place
Simply because of you.
