Kenneth JosephSLOANIn loving memory of Kenneth Joseph Sloan

Ken passed away peacefully on May 16 2025. Born 14th June 1948, to Joseph and Catherine
Sloan, Ken was a devoted husband to Barbara for 48 years, a wonderful father to their three
children Emma, Elizabeth and Andrew and a loving Fizzgog to his seven grandchildren
Nancy, Arthur, Mylo, Harry, Jack, Belle and Joseph.

Ken was a passionate historian with a deep curiosity about the world and a gift for sharing its
wonders with others. His love of nature was unmistakable and deeply felt. Some of his
happiest moments were spent fossil hunting with his family along the shores of Lyme Regis,
where his joy and enthusiasm were at their brightest.

Ken touched the lives of all that knew him with his kindness, charm and mischievous sense
of humour - and although he suffered during his final years, his amazing character did not
change. Ken was unforgettable and will be dearly missed by friends and loved ones.

A celebration of his life will be held at All Saint’s Church, Childwall on 10th June at 12pm
before he is laid to rest at Allerton Cemetery at 1pm. Family and friends are also invited to
share a toast to Ken’s life at Liverpool Cricket Club, Aigburth from 1.30pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Stapely Care, who cared for him so well in his
final years.

Lovely memories of Mr Sloan from my time at La Sagesse in the 70s. He made the subject come alive and no lesson was ever boring. He sent me out of class a good few times for giggling but was never cross with me for long, he was way too good-natured.

Fond memories of being taught Geography by Mr Sloan at La Sagesse in the 70’s - his notes on the chalkboard often accompanied with the message “please leave on KJS”
