70 Years of Love
11th August — 70 years married
Seventy years ago today,
Two hearts became as one,
A lifetime of love and memories,
A journey that had begun.
Dad, you’re no longer here with us,
And Mum may not know the day,
But that can never change the love
You shared along the way.
Seventy years of holding hands,
Of laughter, tears and life,
Of building memories together,
Through happiness and strife.
I wish you were here, Dad,
To celebrate this special day,
To see the beautiful life you shared
And all that never fades away.
Mum may not remember,
But I will remember for you both.
I’ll carry this day within my heart,
And honour every year you shared.
Seventy years is a lifetime,
A love that time can’t erase.
And although you’re no longer here, Dad,
Your love still has its place.
So today I’ll say your names,
And remember you together,
70 years of Mum and Dad —
Loved and remembered forever.
