To me he was Sir, 1976 to 1979 at Eastfield JHS. He was an absolute inspiration. He taught history with such enthusiasm that you couldn't help but be submerged in the past.
He will always have a place in my heart together with many other, selfless teachers of that time at Eastfield. God bless Peter and thank you.

Peter was a good man, an intelligent man and a good friend. I will both miss and cherish our conversations about history and politics. I wish him the very best in the next life.

I knew Peter as a student as Hessle High School in the late 1960's. He was an eccentric character but enormously kind. We lived quite close to each other in Anlaby.
I haven't seen Peter for over 50 years but I was sad to hear of his death and pleased that so many, in Hull and the surrounding area, remembered him as an inspirational teacher. I look back on my life and am grateful to inspirational teachers who fashioned my thinking and inspired me to be where I am today.

Rest in peace. Peter.
