Passed away peacefully on Sunday 27th September 2026, aged 83 years.

Much loved husband of Carole. Loving father of Stephen, Sarah (deceased) and Stuart. Cherished grandad of Daniel, Taran, Hannah, Ianto, Noah and Daisie. Will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Service to take place at the North Devon Crematorium, Barnstaple on Tuesday 27th October at 11.30 am.

Family flowers only please, but donations welcome for Bowel Cancer UK at the service or c/o

My amateur radio call sign is M0DBA and Fred regularly took part in our DMR net on Tuesday evening on the SW cluster. His distinctive voice will always be remembered. Rest In Peace, Fred now SK.

Fred was a good friend for many years on the radio we spoke many times across north Devon, my callsign is M7AZJ he will be sadly missed, his stories where loved by many, chasing sheep along a road, sheep ran into a house with an open front door, the sheep ran up the stairs and by the time Fred got there the sheep where looking out of the upstairs windows.
