I was sorry to hear of Dominics death, my condolences to the Family. I first met Dominic at Labour Party meetings in the 1970s. When I was elected as a Councillor to Nithsdale District in 1980, I was only in my 20s , I appreciated Dominics wisdom and assistance , I went on to serve 33 years as a councillor but never forgot the guidance he gave me. Whenever , I was up in Kirkconnel, usually chapping doors , I always had a blether with him. He was a good and decent man and a credit to the community of Kirkconnel and Kelloholm.
