To Glenn and family,
So sorry to hear the sad loss of your mum.
Words are difficult but memories are powerful.
My Memories of Auntie Linda are that she was strong, stoic, resilient and supportive. I true McAllion from birth!
I remember visiting her house on Plodder Lane and spending time with her @1981. I think she was working as an emergency call handler at the Ambulance Service on Plodder Lane at the time. What a job, and full admiration for her bravery in this difficult job.
I remember Auntie Linda's support to me when my dad died. To help distract me at a difficult time, she taught me a near impossible game of Patience, promising me £10 if I cracked it (£10 was a lot of money in 1980). She then honoured her promise and paid up when, after millions of hours, I finally won the game!
Auntie Linda was direct and forthright and I gave me her worldly wisdom on several occasions. She was strongly fierce and protective of both her boys and I liked her for that maternal bond.
What a woman.. she will be sadly missed but remembered fondly.
Much love to you all.
Deborah
