To the best aunty ever,

There have been so many instances already that I have thought “I must tell Jo that” or “I’ll send that to Jo”, more than I would’ve expected.

I will miss our conversations, whether it be cat/dog related, quoting from What We Do In the Shadows, comparing gothic jewellery or whatever we both have in store for our other halves in DIY world.

I love that we’re so similar. I’ve inherited so many things from you that is pure joy. Accumulating animals, books and art, nerding out on family history and comparing house decor plans. It always gave me joy when you’d encourage me with my maximalism around the house.

You are and always will be warm, fiercely intelligent, kind, beautiful and so, so funny. I will miss all of you so much and feel so lucky that you are in my life. Until we meet again <3

Jo came into my life as a teenager and over the years became a lifelong friend. I will always remember her kindness, her humour, and the love she showed to those around her. Some of my happiest memories are of seeing her as a fantastic Auntie to Robbie, especially when he was a newborn, and of the many nights out, messages, coffees and catch-ups we shared over the years.
We may not have spoken every week at times, but when we did it was as though no time had passed at all. Jo was always there, ready with a chat, a laugh, the latest photos of her cats and dogs, and her annual Strictly message asking, "Who's your favourite?" I will miss her friendship, her smile and her presence in my life so much.
My thoughts are with Mike and all of Jo's family at this very sad time. Maggie xx
