NorthBERTRAMBERTRAM (North Shields). Peacefully in hospital from pneumonia, on March 3rd 2012, aged 93 years, Louisa, born 9th January 1919, eldest daughter of Joseph Bertram and Louisa Hedquist, wife of Robert Parker, mother of Robert Louis, much loved grandmother of Robert William and Peter Alan, the second of seven children, her mother told neighbours "This one'll never survive" but she did. Served in the Womens Auxiliary Air Force during WW2, awarded a medal. Opened Wilkinsons store in North Shields, enjoyed eating cakes and sweets, always cuddly. Told everyone her grandson had become a doctor. Lived in a flat with a view of the mouth of the Tyne. Firmly believed funerals were a waste of money. Cremation at Tynemouth Crematorium at 1.30pm Friday 9th March. No flowers. If you like flowers, buy some for yourself and enjoy them!
