Even though Grandad wasn’t my grandad by blood, he was every bit a part of my family.

I called him Grandad because that’s exactly what he was to me—someone who cared, guided, and loved me as if i were his own. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, like they belonged. His door, like his heart, was always open.

Grandad was full of quiet wisdom and gentle humor. He listened without judgment, and gave advice that stayed with you. Whether it was a story from his past, a helping hand when we needed one, or just a kind word at the right moment—he gave so much, simply by being himself.

We are going to miss him deeply. But more than that, we’re grateful—for the time we had, the memories we made, and the love he showed us. He may not have shared my last name, but he’ll always be a part of my family.

Thank you, Grandad. We’ll carry you with us, always. Thank you, Arthur.

I called this wonderful man, Uncle Arthur. He and his mum who I called Granny Biggs were a significant part of the 'village' that raised me.
We lived at no 60, next door to Granny Biggs and I spent a lot of time with the Biggs'
My fondest memory with Uncle Arthur is when I was little, he would have been 45 at the time when he'd take me to feed the chickens in his garden! He'd make me laugh and feel completely safe and looked after.

My dad and Uncle Arthur had alot of respect for each other and kept in touch throughout the years.

We moved out of Terry Rd, in 1984/85. Uncle Arthur and his son David, worked on our new home. They built the extension of our new home.

We would visit Uncle Arthur around Christmas time every year and exchange presents. I'd make us all a cup of tea in his kitchen and we'd have a good time catching up.

He always had a jolly energy about him.

I can't believe he's gone. Uncle Arthur will be dearly missed.

All our love to all the family ❤️

I only knew Arthur for a short time but the kindness he showed me when we first met will stay with me for the rest of my life.
