Godfrey was one of the kindest gentlemen I have ever met, first met him when I started at RNAS Culdrose in 1997, the mechanical team was just us, I learnt so much from Godfrey, such a kind and patient man and great sense of humour, he couldn’t go more than 100 yards without stopping and chatting to other people on the base, everyone knew him, great times were had over many years. He will leave many people feeling sad as well as privileged to have known him including myself, my thoughts are with Jane and the family today, sorry I can’t be there today for his funeral though my thoughts will most certainly be, I’ll raise a glass to my old friend Godfrey later x

We remember Godfrey as the gentlest of gentlemen. He had a very genial manner and always treated others with kindness and respect. He showed such a keen interest in and kindness towards our own children and those of others in and around Mullion when they were growing up. A truly lovely man! We feel very much for the whole family in your loss.
