JanetCASSADYDied peacefully on the 26th April at the City Hospital Nottingham, in her 91st year.

Beloved wife of the late Tom, daughter of Ron and Eve Brazier and much-loved sister of the late Pam (Gelsthorpe). A good friend to so many as well as a loyal and trusted civil servant who gave much on behalf of her country.

The funeral of this wonderful and determined lady, who fought bravely in her final years, will take place at The Oaks Rushcliffe Crematorium on Friday 23rd May at 10.45am.

Family flowers only. In recognition of the marvellous care and support given by the NHS to Janet over the last few years any donations in her memory to NHS Charities Together.

My condolences to Janet's family. I shared an office with Janet as a PA in MAFF Cambridge from 1983 until she left her job to move back to Nottingham. I was a newly appointed PA and felt I was so lucky to join Janet. She helped me enormously in my role, giving me guidance and friendship. It wasn't all work, we had many chats and plenty of laughs, not just with me but with lots of our colleagues. She would fondly talk about Tom and her sister Pam and her family as we exchanged stories. We met a few times when she came back to Cambridge on trips and we kept in touch over the years by letters in birthday and Christmas cards up until only a few years ago. I've often thought about her and will always be grateful.

My condolences to all the family. Have alot of fond memories staying with her and my grandad in Cambridge. Due to our personal circumstances we won't be there to say farewell but we will think of her.
