MurielCHESTERMrs C Tribute to Muriel Chester. Today, on her birthday, family and friends remember Mrs Muriel Chester. Mrs Chester passed away in her home with close family in February 2010. Her family wanted to post an annual article in her memory. Mrs Chester came to Bristol after working in various nursing roles all over the country. She came to the UK from Guyana as part of the Windrush generation with a passion of working in a profession which helped others. After nursing for many years and supporting people with disabilities in her own home, Ms Chester decided to open a small residential home for people with mental disabilities, helping people on their journey to a more choice driven, fulfilled life. Ms Chester came from a large family with many loving siblings and wanted to recreate the feeling of community, care and support to those around her. Mrs C, as Muriel was affectionately known by colleagues, lost her battle with Sarcoma Cancer in 2010. She is survived by her son, daughter and grandchildren and is lovingly remembered by family, friends and colleagues in the Fishponds area of Bristol. This year holds a particularly poignant remembrance as her husband Mr Douglas Albert Gregory, who she had known for nearly 30 years, also passed away in the early hours of 30th September 2021.
