Memories go back to the 1960s and our times shared as we took the Dilleigh’s mobile Bedford grocery van here, there and everywhere around the post war housing estates of northern Plymouth. Lots of fun and laughter - a truly, kind and generous person never to be forgotten. A privilege to know and I am thankful our paths crossed.

Lots of good times - plenty of laughter and fun as we went all over Plymouth in the legendary Dilliegh’s Bedford mobile shop. Never forgotten…,

Thank you once again for everything Babs!

Knowing you meant the world to me. You were so supportive and I certainly wouldn't still be in the industry without you. You won't have got the letter I sent because it would've been there a few days after you passed, but I'm being sent on a disabled performers working group for FIA actors & a lot of that is from the confidence you gave me & then to do everything I can for other performers too. I promise to keep paying the support forward like we talked about. You have been one of my heroes for 20 years & I will never forget you.

Sleep soft. There must be pianos in the beyond, so I know you'll be well contented.

Sending much love also to all of Babs' family.

"Aunty" Barbara met my Mum (May Stephens) when they worked together at Dilleighs Grocers in the early 60's. They remained friends and enjoyed reminiscing about the happy memories they had made. "Aunty" Barbara was a kind and caring lady, touching the lives of so many, she will be missed. Rest in peace. Love Lizzie x

Barbara ( Babs) Cole our dear friend ,President and Director of Elburton Village Hall. She worked tirelessly to raise money for the Village Hall and the Community. Although she stepped down from the Management Committee a few years ago the legend known as Babs is not forgotten her story is displayed on the Village Hall timeline. Her Garden Parties were always a success and many charities across the City benefitted from these. The last time I saw Babs was on her 100th Birthday held at the Village Hall it was packed full of friends and family and she looked beautiful and enjoyed every minute . Rest in peace Babs. Love Jan , all the Directors and Committee of Elburton Village Hall we shall miss you
