I was so terribly sad to hear of John's passing- whilst I hadn't seen him for many years, I have such happy memories of John from my youth. He was an incredibly warm, gregarious and kind man, and a brilliant friend to my uncle, Peter. Rest in peace John x

A lovely man and former school friend
Despite being immobile for years he was always cheerful
He loved to talk about Heathfield School and the countryside
Will miss coming to visit him

I had only know John for a couple of years when a group of us from Bill Quay Community Church sang with the residents at Marigold. John was always cheerful, funny and engaging always ready to listen to my tales about my work in a school and my grandchildren. He loved to sing Waters of Tyne and would always have a tear in his eye recalling memories from his past. Rest in peace John.
