JohnCOONEYJohn passed away very peacefully, holding the hands of his grandchildren, on Sunday 4th February 2024 at Woodlands Hospice in Aintree where he received the best care possible during his last days. He was 89 and had been ill for some time.

John was married to his wife Margaret for 67 years and was the most loving, thoughtful and devoted husband she could wish for. He was also a wonderfully caring and generous dad to daughters Karen and Lorraine and was deeply loved, admired and appreciated by his grandchildren Rory, Caitlin, Paul and Mark, of whom he was very proud. He will also be very deeply missed by his sister, Peggy, his sons-in-law, Brian and David, and his grandchildren's partners, Lawrence, Joe and Shannon. To know him was to love him.

John's Requiem Mass will be take place at St Monica's Church, Bootle on Monday 4th March at 1:15pm, followed by a committal service at Thornton Crematorium and a wake at Formby Hall.

Family flowers only please, but donations to Woodlands Hospice in Aintree would be very welcome - it was a place that brought so much comfort to John.
