I remember Roses as such a joyful happy lady. My daughter Isabella then a youngster, after first meeting Roses, said on our drive home, “She was so lovely and had she sparkly eyes Dad”. That sums Roses up. Lovely and sparkly like stars.
The Henson family Sonny, Ada, Cynthia, Betty and Rosemary were evacuated from Alderney to the UK mainland during WW2, enduring constant relocation to find somewhere safe to live and work.
In the 1960s Robert was born, to join his cousins in the Weaver and Bramall families. We were constants in each others lives even though we’d moved to Norwich from Leicester in 1970.
Rosemary never missed a birthday, there was always a present under the tree at Xmas, and always talk of football as Ken and Robert were great players, coaches and managers of Anstey’s football teams.
I’ll miss her as I miss all my aunts and uncles. Roses was the last of that generation. She joins Ken, her sisters, brother-in-laws, and family members who went before.
Bless you Rosemary. You were so loved. Rest safely with your loved ones.
Jonathan, Clare, Isabella, Maximilian.
