GlenDARLOW1964 - 2020 In loving memory of our beloved son Glen, who suddenly passed away one year ago on 24th November 2020 in hospital in Thunder Bay, Canada after suffering his illness so very bravely. Glen was a loving caring son both for his family and all of the dogs he rescued and found loving homes for in Thunder Bay etc. He was even given the name of HERO by the dog rescue centres there. Glen our beloved son is so very sadly missed by his heartbroken Mam and Dad. You will be in our hearts forever Glen and we will always love you. Also so very sadly missed by his Auntie Sheila and Uncle David, Auntie Carol and Uncle Ian and Glen's Brother Mike. Your presence we miss, your memories we treasure, loving you always, forgetting you never.

Glen was a very gentle man, keen animal lover, and worked a lot rescuing dogs. I communicated with his beloved dog, Thunder, for him, and mentored him to becoming a professional animal communicator, and it was a pleasure to know him if only for that short amount of time.

Glen was a very beautiful human being and Heaven is all the richer for his presence. I am certain his two dog and two cats will be taken care of in his absence.

RIP Glen with your best friend, Thunder.

Woke up this morning with a sad feeling in my stomache knowing that its been 2 years since i gave you that goodbye kiss. My heart still aches my tears still flow but I have never forgotten you each day . Especially when i save a dog from sachigo lake I know your smiling at me so happy . Best news ever I just saved recently Cindys littermate . Your always in my heart buddy and i will never understand why you had to leave so hard and so fast but God has a amazing person now and all the dogs in heaven are playing with you . Best thing is they are all healthy and your happy. I keep your memory alive every day and tell Primrose and Saphire how much you loved them and they miss you . One day we will meet again and you better look out cause i have lots to tell you buddy.

Glen Darlow was a great treasure and a needed refuge for new teachers up in Big Trout Lake, ON. He really had a great heart and always watching out for the one who required protection. As a new teacher I had an accident cutting some frozen meats, and Glen took me to the nursing station. As a new teacher I did not even know where the nursing station was. He took me there on a snow mobile and I was able to recover quickly. Glen thank you for being a great friend during a very trying time teaching in the remote north, Canada. You were the absolute best! Om Ami Dewa Hri ( May you always shine in eternal light) Karma Chukdong.

Glen was part of our team at Windigo and taught in Sachigo Lake for many years. Glen had a heart of gold and was always so eager to lend a helping hand. I always loved hearing about Glen’s dog rescue stories. He is missed greatly by everyone who was lucky enough to meet him. Rest easy Glen, until we meet again.

I have never known anyone else quite like Glen: animal whisperer, relentless committed animal rescuer, loyal friend, amazing teacher, proud Brit/Canadian, bread baker extraordinaire, a St. Francis of Assisi in his own right, voracious reader, lover and collector of good books and movies, in touch with God and the universe.... I learned so much from him. Thank you Glen for being you. Rest in wonderful companionship with all of your animal friends. I think of you often❤️❤️

I never met Glen, but I do have two of the rescues he helped save ! Highway (now Henry) & his daughter May. They are such well behaved dogs & I think that definitely has something to do with the love they received from Glen. I am glad he got to see pictures of them in their forever home before he passed. ❤️

I first met Glen in 2007 when he was the first person to meet me at the airport in big trout lake and pick up me and my daughter who were coming there to teach. Glen quickly became my very dear friend and I learned about dog rescues from him. He helped me to rescue many many dogs from big trout lake and he was in touch with many rescues in thunder Bay. He introduced me to a dear friend Judy Mackie, who had the Newhope dog rescue. She supported Glen in those early years to help bring outs lots of dogs as well as Kim’s rescue and others that Glen was always in touch with. Glen had that great British sense of humour and we laughed and laughed in the 2 1/2 years that I was a big trout lake with him. He stayed my friend for all those years afterwards when he moved To Toronto and also to Germany again. I met his first dog thunder and Glenn loved thunder so much and when he passed on Glen Got, Chester and Cindy Who he also cherished and then he added two cats Primrose and sapphire to his family. He always sent me the Jacquie Lawson cards at Christmas and Easter and he did amazing things with animal communication. When my dog bear passed on he told me my last words to bear what they were exactly as if he knew and he was 1000 km away from me. That’s when I knew for sure that he could talk to animals he wrote a book And had a webpage and he just did wonderful things not just for the animals for but for people in the northern communities as well. I cherish Glen’s friendship and I miss him but I know that God has him in the peaceable kingdom filled with animals and Glenn shines among them. Now he looks after my two rescue dogs Bear and Rodney. My heart goes out to his family because I know Glenn was very close to his parents so if you’re reading this know that he touched the hearts of many and I know he’s at peace now

Never has a loss left such a big empty with people in the dog community. Glen was in all trueness a hero. He gave selflessly to help thousands of dogs. He was gentle and kind and good. He is still missed and still remembered with great fondness. I wouldn't have my 2 rescue dogs if it wasn't for Glen and I'm so thankful for him saving them.
I remember watching Glen when he was reunited with a dog he had rescued. It was total and full love - kisses and hugs, happiness and contentment. I know Glen is in heaven now. God gave him the best seat - under a tree surrounded by all of his dog (and cat) friends. I picture that and it helps ease the pain of losing a good friend.
