ShirleyDUCKWORTHPeacefully on Wednesday, July 15 with family by her side at Royal Blackburn Hospital, Shirley aged 82. Loving wife to the late Colin, she was dearly loved mum to John and Carol, also a cherished grandma to Alex, Hope and Joseph. Shirley was a loyal, loving family lady who doted on her children and grandchildren. Shirley spent 43 years happily married to her loving husband Colin; together they enjoyed their holidays, they thoroughly loved their cruises and also their caravan holidays. In her younger years Shirley took to employment working at a local mill before becoming a housewife when her first child John was born. Family life for Shirley was complete when her second child Carol was born. Shirley loved her home life surrounded by her husband and children, many happy memories were made and fond memories recalled of Shirley’s love of music and dancing. In later life Shirley kept herself occupied with her dancing and also working as a volunteer at the Barnardo’s Charity Shop. Shirley will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. A private family funeral service was held. The service was also streamed live for all those who could not attend. Donations are being received in memory of Shirley on behalf of The British Heart Foundation.
