I have such fond memories of lovely Auntie Dorothy. She was kind, thoughtful, stoic, adventurous, and great fun to be around. She always made the effort to keep in touch, and I especially remember our long phone calls from Australia.

She was the ultimate organiser, making sure everyone was happy and helping us make the very best of every occasion. I especially remember the wonderful three-week holiday we shared with her, Uncle John, and my dad, Peter, in Dubai in 1994. Thanks to Auntie Dorothy, we managed to see virtually every tourist attraction Dubai had to offer, visit every golf course, and experience the magnificent Dubai Desert Classic.

Michael also has very happy memories of visiting Dorothy and John on several occasions for a cheery chat and a cup of tea at their post office in Hough. My dad will always be grateful for the other holidays, including one with David, and for the support Dorothy and John gave us all through some difficult times.

She was truly special, and we will all miss her very much.
