Ian RoyELLISIan sadly passed away on the 16th October 2026 in Queenscourt Hospice after numerous spells in hospital.
Ian was born in Southport, was a true sandgrounder and never left.
He leaves behind his loving wife Carole, son Dave, daughter in law Verena and his granddaughter Emmy.
Ian was a very active, fun loving, funny sociable man. He was a keen member of the U3A football group, Southport swords, painting for pleasure art group and Bothy folk club.
He also enjoyed ballroom dancing, walking and travelling extensively with Carole in their motorhome.
One of Ian's greatest joys was socialising with his many friends with a tankard of real ale. He was a lifelong fan of Everton and loved to see his beloved team in action, whatever the result.

A celebration of Ian's life will be held at
Southport Crematorium on Friday 30th October at 12 noon.

Donations are being gratefully received in Ian's memory for Queenscourt Hospice, following the link below or care of Southport Funeral Care

So awful to hear the sad news of Ian's passing , I used to play in the same football team during the 70s with him and more recently at walking football . Ian was a top bloke a great team mate , He had a great sense of humour, sometimes very dry always had a smile . I like many others will miss Ian greatly . RIP old mate

Ian was always fun to be with and knew how to live life to the full. We have some very happy memories of him - we’ll never forget his jokes through Covid! Much love to Carole and family.
