Ronald Charles WilliamEVANS(known as 'Ray') Aged 88, died on the 27th of January 2017 at St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey after a short illness. His Funeral service will be held on Tuesday the 28th of February at St Mary's Church, Sunbury at 12:00 noon, followed by interment at Sunbury Cemetery. Born on the 3rd of August 1928, we think at home; Ivy Cottage in Staines. As a young man, he was very proud of his time spent doing his national service with the 10th Platoon 62nd County P.T.C Devizes. After which he went on to work at BP and stayed there for 38 years as a shift supervisor working both days and nights where he earned the nickname Ray to which he became very attached. Married to Phoebe Margaret Beatrice Madgwick on the 9th of June 1951 they had two sons, Alan and Paul of whom they were very proud. A lifelong Brentford FC supporter he would go to home games as often as the bus timetable would permit. Arrangements courtesy of Lodge Brothers Sunbury. His family request in lieu of flowers, donations are sent to the following Charities: RNLI and Macmillan Cancer Support.
