StevenFLEMINGOn June 12th, Steven Fleming, age 66, of Mevagissey sadly passed away at Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske, Truro after living in Mevagissey for over 16 years. Steven was born in Leek, and grew up in Blythe Bridge. He was a student at St. Josephs Christian Brothers School in Stoke-on-Trent and graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Mathematics, and Computer Science He spent most of his professional career as a computer specialist dealing with international money transfers for a variety of larger banks overseas and in London. His job took him all over the world and some of the places he worked were Milan, Hong Kong, San Paulo, Montreal, and Singapore. He eventually retired in Mevagissey, Cornwall. Steven suffered from Motor Neuron Disease, for the last three years of his life.

Steven will be greatly missed and is survived by his sister Carol Sadler, his brother-in-law Walter Sadler of Davis, California, and his two nieces, Sarah Sadler of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Laura and Steffen Roennfeldt of Medford Oregon.

Steven's wish was to be cremated, and so there will be a memorial mass for him on Friday 18th December 2026 11am at St Augustine's of Hippo, Woodland Road, St. Austell PL25 4RA.

Played together from the age nine, swam as friends and rivals in our teens at COSACSS, kept in touch throughout your working life abroad, great visits to London on your return to England and more recently my trip to Mevagissey to see you. Steve, great friend...you will never be forgotten.
