RonaldFLETCHERIn Loving Memory Ronald Fletcher, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday 11th July 2022 at the Countess of Chester Hospital. Ron was born on the 13th January 1938 in Winsford, Cheshire. He married the love of his life, Margaret Rose Fletcher, on the 29th August 1959, spending 58 memorable years together before his beloved Margaret passed away in January 2018. From a young man, Ron pursued a career within the Police force, progressing from an Apprentice to Superintendent of Chester City Police Division; he told a story how he started his career making cups of tea for various people, who then later would address him as Sir. Ron was a Kippax kid, a passionate Manchester City fan who was a season ticket holder for many years, and inspired the whole family to be blue. Just as his scarf read, "City till I die". Ron loved to put a smile on people's faces, jokingly he would tell his grandchildren his middle name was 'Farquharson', which they believed for many years. He was a proud Dad and Grandad, who cared for his family and loved them unconditionally. He leaves behind his daughter, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many friends who will miss him dearly. A celebration of life for Ron will be held at Chester Crematorium on the 28th July 2022 at 14:00.
