Harold DobsonGALLEYOn January 12th 2024, peacefully in the care of Botham Hall, Harold aged 86 years formerly of Honley. Former teacher at Rawthorpe, football referee and linesman and Secretary of Yorkshire School Boys Cricket.

Devoted husband of the late Noreen, loving dad of Denise and father-in-law of Stephen, much loved grandpa of Danielle, Rebecca, Katie and Sophie and grandpa great of Freddie-Jax, Phoebe, Hallie, dearly loved brother of Ann and Maurice and a dear uncle and friend.

Service and Committal at Huddersfield Crematorium on Monday February 5th at 12.30pm. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to The Cystic Fibrosis Trust for which a plate will be provided at the Service.

I’ve just seen this notice, so sorry Denise and family, Mr Galley was a good teacher and a nice man. Was just thinking about you Denise the other week when we worked together and I bumped into you in town a few times around a decade ago now. Take care, lots of love xx

I recall attend meetings of referees with Harold in the 1970s. He always talked great common sense and was very keen and willing to help young referees like myself.
