SylviaGODBERIt is with great sadness that we share the passing of Sylvia Godber, beloved wife of Stephen Godber and cherished mother of Andrew, Jill, and Nancy.
Sylvia passed away peacefully on the 8th of May 2025, surrounded by love and family. She touched countless lives with her warmth and kindness and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sylvia and Stephen married in 1964, enjoying a long and loving marriage and celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary in 2024. Sylvia loved her family deeply, raising her children with great care, devotion, and immense pride in how her family had grown.
Throughout her life, Sylvia worked in many roles. She began as a seamstress at the factory where she first met and fell in love with Stephen. Later, she worked as a dinner lady at White Gate School and then as a hospital domestic at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where she found great joy in bringing comfort and kindness to others.
In her spare time, Sylvia loved to knit, read and above all, lived selflessly, always putting her family first. Her warmth, strength and generosity touched everyone who knew her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and cherished memories that will live on in all who knew her.
