RosemaryGRAVEShas died at the age of 83 after a short illness. Wife of the late Donald Graves, former Mayor of Hertford, they were married for 60 years and had two daughters. Rosemary was born in Derby but had lived in Hertford since 1962. She worked as a primary school teacher, firstly at Morgan's Walk Junior School and latterly at Tower School in Ware until her retirement in 1999. Rosemary was a very keen tennis player, playing for Derbyshire in her younger years and a long-standing member of Broxbourne tennis club. She also played squash at Haileybury and golf at Brickendon Grange Golf Club. Rosemary was a loyal and committed member of All Saints Church, Hertford for over 60 years. Rosemary is survived by her daughter Fiona and five grandchildren, her elder daughter Caroline died in 1996 from multiple sclerosis. The funeral will take place at 1pm on Tuesday 31st January at All Saints Church, Hertford. Family flowers only please but donations for Isabel Hospice may be sent c/o Powell Funeral Service, 83 Railway Street, Hertford SG14 1RP

Wonderful teacher, taught both my children at Tower School. I also knew her through Hertford swimming club.

Mrs Graves was a great teacher. I left Tower School in 1997 and her name has popped up throughout the years. My thoughts are with her family.
