I was a pupil in Ceri’s year and have such fond memories of those times. Mr Greves was respected and loved. (And imitated and teased behind his back, obviously!).
I was terrified when he asked me to stay after school, as a first year, to be in the relay team that he was going to train personally… but he was so lovely and so kind and we went on to win the Area Sports. I put a rose between his teeth and danced the flamenco with him as a 4th year, at the “Captains Thank You Show”…he was good fun and game for anything. When my brother broke his arm at school he sent for me to sit with him yet intercepted me first as he was so concerned that I would be shocked and worried when I saw him. He was a big part of so many childhoods and will be remembered with great fondness by so very many of us.
