Brian JohnGRIFFITHSIn Memory On January 29th, 2023, Brian Griffiths of Tongwynlais, passed peacefully. Brian was the beloved husband of Valerie Griffiths, and loving Dad to Paul, Ruth, and Andrew. He was the loved Father-in-law of Caron, Samantha, and Brian, and the adored Bampi to Mathew, Becky, James, Sarah, Ellena, Jack, and Liam. He was the wonderful great grandfather (Bampi Wales) for Alyssa, Charlie, George, Leo, and Mason. Brian will be missed by his extended family whom he loved and cherished. Brian was a servant to his community and Church and will be greatly missed by the people of Tongwynlais and Whitchurch whom he served as a City Councillor for nearly 30 years, and for the people of Tongwynlais as a community councillor for over 40 years. In 2009/2010 Brian was proud to serve the people of Cardiff as their Right Honourable Lord Mayor. He was a dedicated Christian who was a leader in his church throughout his life. Resting at Coles Funeral Directors until the service to be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday 16th February at St Michael's and All Angels Church, Tongwynlais, followed by cremation at Thornhill Crematorium (Wenallt Chapel) at 3:30 pm. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Brian Griffiths will be graciously accepted for St Michael's Church and BoBath (Cerebral Palsy Cymru) the charity he supported for many years and his charity while serving as the Lord Mayor of Cardiff.
