Mary TheresaGWYNNENEE DOWNEY Peacefully on Monday October 16th 2017, Mary, passed away aged 92 years. Beloved Wife to the late Dr. Ieuan, loving Mother of Richard, Dai, Bridget, Owen, Catherine and Gareth and Auntie to the late Nansi's children, Sian, Huw and Elen, a wonderful Nan to Elen, David, Anna, Matthew, Leila, Alyn, Clare, Nicholas, Eleanor, Ieuan, Ianto and Kasper and much loved Great Auntie to Owen, Hannah, Abi and Suki. Published Scientist in Dublin, Mary came to Wales to work in Morriston Hospital as a Biochemist in the Rhondda, Mary was active in establishing the Rhondda Citizens Advice Bureau, in fund-raising for Cancer Research UK and in the Inner Wheel. Service at 9.30am on Monday 30th October 2017 at SS Gabriel and Raphael Roman Catholic Church, Trinity Road, Tonypandy followed by interment at Penrhys Cemetery at 11.00am. Well wishers are invited to attend any or all of the Service, the Burial and the Reception (at Penrhys Golf Club from 11.00am). Family flowers only by request, donations in lieu may be made to Dementia UK c/o Mrs Bridget Ward, 72 Rehoboth Road, Five Roads, Llanelli SA15 5DZ or given on the day of the funeral.
