BernardHALLMonday, 25 November, with his life's companion and loving wife Rita at his side, Bernard found peace and passed away at 90 years of age.

A beloved husband to Rita, loving and devoted father to Dominic, Miriam and John, and grandfather to Tanyah and Henry. Bernard was a cherished brother to Janice (and his late elder sisters Brenda and Celia); a much-loved father-in-law to Clare, Joy and Bill; a dear uncle, and a valued friend to many.

Missed but never forgotten, his spirit commended to God, in certain knowledge of everlasting peace.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary on the Sea Catholic Church, Heneage Rd, Grimsby on Monday, 16th December at 2.30pm, followed by a private committal at Grimsby Crematorium.

Family flowers only, thank you. If desired, donations in memory of Bernard can be made for the benefit of seafarers to Stella Maris, and placed in the donation box outside the church after the Mass.

O YE whose cheek the tear of pity stains,
Draw near with pious rev'rence, and attend!
Here lie the loving husband's dear remains,
The tender father, and the gen'rous friend;
The pitying heart that felt for human woe,
The dauntless heart that fear'd no human pride;
The friend of man-to vice alone a foe;
For 'ev'n his failings lean'd to virtue's side.
