ColinHARDMANMR Colin Hardman, born July 19, 1933, died peacefully at home on Friday, February 28, aged 86. Dearly beloved husband of the late Mrs Elizabeth Hardman, he leaves sons Andrew and Peter, daughters-in-law Kerry and Fiona, grandchildren Allanah, Saul, Tommy and Charlie, sister June and brother Beric. Born in Crawshawbooth, he met Elizabeth at the Accrington "Con Club" and they married in 1956. Moving to Helmshore, they were founder parishioners of St Veronica's RC Church, where they lived for over 30 years. Colin touched so many people with his genuine friendship and sense of humour. He was indeed a great man who was a true exponent of Carpe Diem. Thank you to the North West Ambulance Services, the Specialist Palliative Care Team and staff on ward C11 at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital for their kind and respectful care. Thanks also to the Haslingden District Nurses, the staff at Homecare Services Waterfoot and Routes Healthcare Burnley who looked after Colin over the last few weeks of his life. A Requiem Mass was held on Monday, March 16 at 1pm, followed by burial at Accrington Cemetery. Family flowers only please and donations welcome for Prostate Cancer UK. For further details or to make donations contact the funeral director Dawn Winfield for Fred Hamer Funeral Services.
