HARRISDesmond George Passed peacefully away on Thursday 23rd February aged 92 years. A beloved Husband to Annie and Father to Leslia, Tony and Jill, with 7 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Funeral service to take place at Canford Crematorium on Thursday 9th March at 11.15am. Born in Bristol, at 16 he was in the Home Guard for 2 years before volunteering as a pilot in the Royal Air Force, serving in Burma during the Japanese war, flying Dakotas dropping supplies to our troops in the jungle for 2 years and then locating and flying home our surviving prisoners of war back to England. On his return he became a Chartered Surveyor and moved to London where he opened an Estate Agency and went on to develop property in Kensington. In the late 1980s he moved back to Bristoland was a member of Bristol Golf Club, University & Literary Club. The RAFA Club and the Norwester Conservative Club. He was a well-respected and a popular member of the community and well loved by many friends, a true gentleman. Family flowers only but please make any donations in his memory to Southmead Hospital via Thomas Davis Funeral Directors, 123 Stoke Lane, Westbury on Trym, Bristol, BS9 3RW.
