Paul Alan CharlesHEMSLEYIt is with great sadness that we announce Paul passed away in the early hours of Sunday 23rd August 2026 at his home after a short illness.
Beloved husband to Elizabeth (Liz), devoted father to Darryl and Sarah, treasured grandad to Liam, Lewis, Elizabeth, and Layton, future father-in-law to Zsofia and Danny, a dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and a much-respected friend and colleague to many.
As Paul's mother once said, "Paul doesn't have an enemy in the world".
Paul was extremely proud of his long and distinguished service in the Army, rising to the rank of Warrant Officer Class1, in the Royal Army Pay Corps, a lifelong supporter of West Ham United and a dedicated supporter of Grimsby Town Football Club, where he served as a steward, tutor and CCTV Operative for over 30 years.
A celebration of Paul's life will take place at Grimsby Crematorium on Wednesday 23rd September 2026 at 10.30am.
Family flowers only please by request. Donations in lieu if so, desired may be made payable to Sunflowers Children's Action Group to recognise the much-appreciated support over the years of Paul's special grandson Liam and a collection box will be available at the service or alternatively online.
