MonicaHERDMANPassed away peacefully at Springhill Care Home on Friday, April 12, aged 87 years. The devoted wife of Hugh, much loved mum to Marie and mother-in-law to Tom, cherished grandma to Daniel and Ellie and beloved great-grandma to Josiah-Joseph. Originally from Accrington, Monica lived and worked in the town before retiring to Cleveleys with her life-long husband Hugh, until he sadly passed away in 2022. Remaining at the seaside, Monica could cherish their memories together of pottering in their garden and going for walks along the seafront. Monica loved nothing more than her grandchildren taking her out for the day and felt greatly blessed to be able to meet her great-grandson, Josiah-Joseph, if only for a short time. Monica was the most respectful, kind and gentle lady, a loving mum, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend to many and will be sorely missed and forever remembered. The service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, May 3, at 1.40pm. Followed by Interment at graveside. Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Monica would be gratefully received by Cancer Research UK. Funeral directors: Wolstenholme, Willows Lane, Accrington.
