Gertrude UrsulaHOBSONGertrude Hobson, better known as Gertie, passed away peacefully at Ivybank Care Home in Kings Norton on Sunday 16 April 2023; after her courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Gertie was born on 10 September 1937 on the beautiful island of Nevis (Saint Kitts and Nevis). After 12 days of sailing, she arrived in England on 7 August 1958. She worked at Reeds Corrugated Cases in Shirley with many years of dedicated service. Gertie is survived by her four children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. My Mum was truly loved and will not only be missed by her children and extended family, but all those who knew her. Her work on Earth is done and she is now resting peacefully in the Arms of God.
