Loss of a truly inspirational 'gentleman'

Hi Anne – please accept my most sincere condolences.
The following words will fail to fill an obvious void in your life, but may help you recognise how your Dad helped so many over the years.
Without your reading any further than this paragraph - your Dad was a truly wonderful man who I will always have fond and respectful memories of.
I feel honoured from having had the benefit of knowing your Dad as someone who I respected and trusted as individual, who always pointing me in the right direction and I felt was always able to approach as a father figure especially during difficult times when I didn't have a Dad to hand.
The personal caring support Stan provided was much, much, more than just doing his job. The care, consideration and fatherly approach he provided went much deeper and helped so many like myself during our early years in the job which went on to help so many achieve in life.
The lines between work and family often become blurred or lost, work consumes day to day lives and the family are often lost in the shadows and we may often fail to recognise or appreciate those around us, especially those nearest to us.
I was one of those in the shadow and can say I truly benefited from the 'protective wing' of Stan, which has enabled me to be where I am today.
I cannot adequately express my total respect and admiration of a truly wonderful and supportive man, and therefore share your grief.
I am feel privileged and better for knowing your Dad.
RIP Stan, your memory lives on
Alan Laurie
