JoanHUGHESPeacefully on June 11th 2025, just a few weeks before her 100th birthday. Beloved wife of the late John, mother of the late David, and Gwilym and Gillian. Much loved grandmother to Joe and Tom. Formerly a teacher in Kingsthorne School in Hunts Cross. Joan also served the country in Bletchley Park during the Second World War, where she was assigned to Japanese cipher work, a secret kept for many years. A woman of courage and fortitude.

The funeral will be held at Springwood Crematorium on Friday 4th July at 10.00am, followed by a memorial service at St Columba United Reformed Church, Hunts Cross, at 11.00am.
